Biomedical Engineering Intern (SKILLBRIDGE)

About the role#

This internship is part of a partnership with the US DOD and is exclusively open to current active duty US Armed Forces members. You will gain hands-on training by shadowing experienced clinical, biomedical, lab, and radiology engineers under the supervision of management. This role provides direct exposure to the daily operations of a hospital environment.

What you'll do#

• Respond to service calls and gain experience in troubleshooting techniques.
• Perform preventative maintenance procedures and inventory validation.
• Learn to manage and balance a daily workload.
• Document repairs and preventative maintenance work orders.
• Train on equipment calibration, electrical safety, and repair processes.
• Coordinate with vendors and work alongside experienced technicians in a real-time service environment.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an associate’s degree program, technical degree program, or the TRIMEDX Trained Certification (or equivalent biomedical certification).
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment screening, including a background check and drug screen.
• A valid driver’s license, as the role may require travel to various sites using a personal vehicle.
• Prior experience working with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment is preferred.
