This internship is part of a partnership with the US DOD and is exclusively open to current active duty US Armed Forces members. You will gain hands-on training by shadowing experienced clinical, biomedical, lab, and radiology engineers under the supervision of management. This role provides direct exposure to the daily operations of a hospital environment.
What you'll do#
- Respond to service calls and gain experience in troubleshooting techniques.
- Perform preventative maintenance procedures and inventory validation.
- Learn to manage and balance a daily workload.
- Document repairs and preventative maintenance work orders.
- Train on equipment calibration, electrical safety, and repair processes.
- Coordinate with vendors and work alongside experienced technicians in a real-time service environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an associate’s degree program, technical degree program, or the TRIMEDX Trained Certification (or equivalent biomedical certification).
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment screening, including a background check and drug screen.
- A valid driver’s license, as the role may require travel to various sites using a personal vehicle.
- Prior experience working with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment is preferred.
