Biomedical Engineering Intern

About the role#

The Biomedical Engineering Intern gains on-the-job training by shadowing experienced clinical, biomedical, lab, and radiology engineers under the supervision of management. This role provides exposure to a real-time service environment within a hospital setting.

What you'll do#

• Shadow experienced engineers to understand the daily operations of a hospital environment.
• Respond to service calls and learn to balance a professional workload.
• Perform preventative maintenance procedures and inventory validation.
• Document repairs and preventative maintenance work orders.
• Learn equipment calibration, troubleshooting techniques, electrical safety, and repair processes.
• Assist with vendor management and other duties as assigned.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an associate’s, technical degree program, or a biomedical certification program.
• Prior experience working with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
• A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel between sites, which may require the use of a personal vehicle.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment screening, including a background check and drug screen.
