About the role#
The Biomedical Engineering Intern receives on the job training by shadowing experienced clinical, biomedical, lab, and radiology engineers under the supervision of management. This role provides exposure to the daily operations of a hospital environment and the technical requirements of maintaining medical equipment.
What you'll do#
- Shadow experienced engineers to learn daily operations and hospital workflows.
- Respond to service calls and assist with troubleshooting techniques.
- Perform preventative maintenance procedures and inventory validation.
- Document repairs and preventative maintenance work orders.
- Learn to calibrate equipment, manage vendors, and ensure electrical safety.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an associate’s or technical degree program, or a relevant biomedical certification program.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent customer service abilities.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment screening, including a background check and drug screen.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Prior experience working with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment is preferred.
