About the role#
TriMas Corporation is hiring a Software Engineering Intern to build a system that handles financial data. You will work on tools to ingest, standardize, and analyze data from various file formats like Excel, CSV, and PDFs. This role supports financial planning and analysis processes by improving how the company maps accounts and identifies variances.
What you'll do#
- Design and develop a system to ingest and standardize data from multiple file formats.
- Build models to normalize inconsistent data and map accounts across datasets.
- Develop functionality to compare financial statements and identify variances.
- Create user-friendly outputs including dashboards and automated reports.
- Integrate the solution with existing systems such as Excel, Power BI, and ERPs.
- Collaborate with finance stakeholders to refine business logic and requirements.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Finance, or Business Administration programs.
- Knowledge of data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
- Experience with data modeling and normalization techniques.
- Familiarity with financial statements and variance analysis.
- Proficiency in developing data validation and reconciliation logic.
- Ability to work with cross-functional finance teams.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site role based in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
- This is a part-time position with expected hours of 15 to 20 hours per week.
