Electrical Intern

About the role#

The Electrical Intern program at TransCore is a 6-month, on-site, hands-on training experience. This role introduces interns to core field and systems work, with the potential for conversion to full-time employment based on performance and business needs.

What you'll do#

• Begin with street lighting repair and maintenance, including troubleshooting, component replacement, inspections, and safety practices involving voltages up to 600VAC.
• Assist with maintaining and troubleshooting large-scale roadside infrastructure using specialized tools and testing equipment.
• Receive basic training in fiber-optic splicing, testing, and maintenance to support communication networks.
• Participate in a cross-departmental shadow rotation to gain exposure to ITS, utility construction, and project management.
• Perform physical tasks including standing, reaching, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds in environments that may include outdoor weather, moving traffic, and mechanical parts.

What you'll need#

• Current pursuit of a degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Valid US driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Strong attention to detail and a curious, eager approach to learning.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
