About the role#
This is a 12-week internship focused on developing post-training methods for generalist robot policies. You will work on adapting these policies to new tasks, environments, and robotic systems to ensure they perform reliably in real-world settings. Our team explores research areas including reinforcement learning, imitation learning, world models, and sim-to-real transfer.
What you'll do#
- Create methods to adapt pretrained robot policies for new tasks and systems.
- Run experiments in simulation and on physical robotic hardware.
- Analyze data and present your findings in technical reports and research publications.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Ph.D. program for Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, or a related field.
- Research experience in areas like robot learning, reinforcement learning, imitation learning, or generative modeling.
- Proficiency in Python and deep-learning frameworks like PyTorch.
- Ability to work well with engineers and researchers to communicate complex results.
- Interest in solving open research problems in large-scale machine learning for physical systems.
- Experience with foundation models, sim-to-real transfer, policy distillation, or learned world models is helpful.
- A record of or interest in publishing at major conferences such as CoRL, NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, RSS, ICRA, or IROS.
- Please include a link to your Google Scholar profile and a full publication list with your application.
Location & details#
- Location: Los Altos, California.
- Modality: Hybrid.
- Term: Summer 2027.
