About the role#
We are looking for an intern to help bridge the gap between atomistic modeling and real electrochemical systems. You will join our team to develop reasoning models that incorporate chemical descriptors, atomistic modeling, and experimental data. This role involves reviewing literature, constructing models, and validating your work alongside a team of scientists and engineers.
What you'll do#
- Research multiscale physics phenomena in electrocatalysis.
- Perform data analytics to support experimental electrocatalyst design and testing.
- Identify materials understanding to translate existing models to new materials.
- Build new reasoning models that combine atomistic simulations and experiments.
- Collaborate on automated reasoning methods.
- Present your findings to your team and the wider group.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a doctoral program in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Hands-on experience with advanced 3-electrode cell catalyst electrochemical evaluation.
- Proficiency with material characterization techniques like x-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy.
- Published manuscripts in the electrocatalysis field.
- Experience with Python coding, microkinetic modeling, DFT simulations, and in-situ electrocatalysis characterization is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027.
