Student - Assistant Lifeguard Instructor

About the role#

The Town of Tillsonburg is seeking four Assistant Lifeguard Instructors to support aquatic programming for all ages. This seasonal student position involves assisting with instruction, ensuring patron safety, and supporting health, safety, and emergency response requirements at the Tillsonburg Community Centre. This role offers up to 20 hours per week at an hourly rate of $17.60, with the option to enroll in the OMERS defined benefit pension plan.

What you'll do#

• Provide instructional assistance for current aquatic programs.
• Collaborate effectively with supervisors and fellow staff members.
• Understand and follow all emergency procedures and the use of emergency equipment.
• Attend all required staff training sessions and meetings.
• Interact with the public in a helpful manner and provide accurate information regarding swimming programs.
• Perform other related duties as designated by the Aquatics Supervisor.

What you'll need#

• Bronze Cross Certification.
• Standard First Aid and CPR certification.
• Availability to work after school, evenings, and weekends.
• Must be returning to school in the fall.
• A proven track record of reliability, professionalism, and a strong work ethic.
• Successful completion of a criminal record check (and a Vulnerable Sector Check if over 18 years of age).
