About the role#
Tokio Marine HCC Surety Group offers a Summer 2027 internship at our Birmingham office. This role helps you turn your classroom studies into practical work experience. You will work alongside our contract and commercial underwriters to learn surety concepts while providing administrative support to the team.
What you'll do#
- Enter and verify data using our proprietary software and databases.
- Set up files accurately and within expected timeframes while following established standards.
- Gather financial information and verify credit.
- Learn preliminary credit and financial analysis.
- Handle billing tasks and process status inquiries.
- Build a working knowledge of our operational systems, underwriting terms, and data sources.
What you'll need#
- You are working toward a bachelor degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or Risk Management.
- You have completed at least 60 units of college coursework with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- You show leadership capabilities and good organizational skills.
- You can manage multiple tasks at once.
- You communicate well in writing and speech, with a focus on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.
- You have the initiative to contribute to team activities and a strong motivation to succeed.
- You are available to work consecutive weeks throughout the summer.
