This internship provides hands-on experience in the Energy and Infrastructure Solutions department. You will support the design and development of control solutions and electrical distribution systems for large-scale projects. This is a full-time, paid position for the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Provide technical support for software design, including creating and documenting industrial controller or computer-based software modules.
- Assist with hardware design by creating electrical drawings for AC/DC drives, power distribution, and control equipment using CAD software.
- Gather project requirements from authorized sources to assess scope and ensure deliverables meet client needs.
- Conduct simulations to verify that software modules and HMI interfaces satisfy design requirements.
- Manage project documentation, including revision control, distribution, and archiving, in accordance with engineering standards.
- Collaborate with management to track project performance, resolve client issues, and report on business unit data.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, with relevant coursework in control automation.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to build successful working relationships in academic or professional settings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to travel domestically up to approximately 5%, sometimes with limited notice.
