About the role#
The World Bank Treasury internship provides undergraduate and postgraduate students with experience in global development finance. You will work full-time for ten weeks in Washington, DC. The program includes an onboarding week followed by rotations through three different Treasury teams. Each intern is paired with a mentor and coordinator to provide guidance during their time in each department.
What you'll do#
- Rotate through three different Treasury teams in three-week intervals.
- Conduct asset and liability management for IBRD, IDA, and IFC balance sheets.
- Collaborate with member countries to help build financial market capacity.
- Engage in weekly discussions with the program director.
- Attend technical and career-focused sessions with Treasury officers and managers.
- Present a capstone project to the Treasury management team at the end of the summer.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or postgraduate student.
- Interest in global development.
- Academic background in Finance, Economics, or Business Administration.
