About the role#
This co-op position offers hands-on experience across the full product design lifecycle, from initial concept to prototyping and testing. You will support the engineering team in developing products that meet performance, cost, and manufacturing requirements.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design, modeling, and drafting of mechanical or electrical components using CAD software.
- Conduct engineering analysis to ensure designs meet specifications and safety standards.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings and specifications following industry standards and GD&T principles.
- Build, test, and validate prototypes and test fixtures, while analyzing data and making design modifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs are cost-effective and manufacturable.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to technical project documentation.
- Research new materials, components, and manufacturing processes to improve product performance.
- Perform root cause analysis on design issues and propose solutions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- Completion of at least two years of engineering coursework prior to the start date.
- Demonstrated proficiency with at least one major 3D CAD software package.
- Strong understanding of fundamental engineering principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
