About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in the daily administrative operations of a medical office. You will work alongside the office manager and clinical team to maintain an organized environment. This role offers exposure to healthcare regulations, inventory management, and patient coordination to help you build skills in a clinical setting.
What you'll do#
- Greet patients and guide them through intake paperwork and check-in forms.
- Coordinate patient flow and scheduling for physicians, clinicians, and imaging services.
- Answer general patient questions and collect co-pays.
- Manage and update inventory counts.
- Maintain filing systems and handle patient records.
- Support daily office operations and assist with special projects.
- Handle confidential medical information in compliance with HIPAA.
- Learn basic medical billing processes.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a high school diploma, associate's, or bachelor's degree.
- An interest in healthcare administration or medical office operations.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office systems.
- A hard-working mentality and an eagerness to learn.
