    About the role#

    The Toro Company is hiring a Hardware and Software Engineering Intern for our Ditch Witch location in Perry, Oklahoma. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027, running from May 17 through August 6. You will work on-site as part of our engineering team.

    What you'll do#

    • Gather and analyze technical data from sources like technical documents, equipment operations, and personal experiments.
    • Develop, debug, validate, and enhance embedded hardware, software, desktop applications, and mobile applications.
    • Create and debug prototypes to ensure they meet specifications.
    • Define measurement techniques, tuning procedures, and test fixtures for production.
    • Prepare compliance and production documentation.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in an accredited Bachelor of Science or graduate program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
    • If pursuing a bachelor's degree, completion of at least 60 credit hours (sophomore year).
    • Completed coursework in Calculus, Differential Equations, General Physics, Basic Circuit Analysis, and Static Body Analysis.
    • At least 6 credit hours in modern programming languages like C, C++, C#, Python, Java, or Pascal.
    • Understanding of communications schemes such as SPI, I2C, RS232, and CAN.
    • Strong problem-analysis skills and the ability to work well in a team.
    • High personal and professional integrity.
    • Preferred: Experience with embedded hardware and firmware for 8/16/32-bit microcontrollers using C/C++, embedded Linux application software, or desktop application development in C# or Python.
