Production Engineer Intern

About the role#

The Production Engineer Intern will support the Engineering and Production teams through process improvement initiatives, production analysis, and documentation development. This 12-week summer internship provides hands-on experience within a manufacturing environment and exposure to continuous improvement efforts across assembly operations.

What you'll do#

• Conduct production time studies to evaluate efficiency and identify improvement opportunities.
• Develop and create detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all assembly lines.
• Analyze production performance data and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Generate and review scheduling reports by due date to support on-time delivery performance.
• Evaluate material flow and facility layout, and prepare improvement proposals for management review.
• Collaborate with operators and supervisors on the production floor to gather feedback and validate processes.
• Assist with continuous improvement and data-driven initiatives as assigned.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Familiarity with ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to clearly document processes and improvements.
• Ability to effectively communicate and engage with production operators and leadership.
• Ability to stand and walk on the production floor for extended periods of time and work in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Power BI or Microsoft data analytics tools is a plus.

• Term: Summer 2026 (12 weeks).
• Modality: Full-time, on-site.
• Compensation: This is a paid internship.
