About the role#
As an Industrial Controls Engineer Intern, you will support the engineering and maintenance teams by working on projects related to automation, PLC programming, and control system design. This role provides hands-on experience with industrial equipment and the opportunity to apply your academic knowledge to real-world manufacturing processes.
What you'll do#
- Assist in programming, testing, and troubleshooting PLCs and control systems.
- Support the integration of sensors, motors, and automated equipment into manufacturing processes.
- Update and maintain technical documentation for control systems.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians on electrical and automation projects.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects that enhance plant efficiency and safety.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, and industrial automation systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.
- Familiarity with control software, such as Allen-Bradley or Siemens, is preferred.
