High School Intern - Part Time

About the role#

This part-time internship offers high school students the opportunity to support the Youth Education department. The role involves assisting with K-5 and 6-12 programming, including academic preparatory activities and science camps during the summer of 2026.

What you'll do#

• Supervise students during onsite activities and field trips.
• Maintain classroom cleanliness and organize supplies for daily activities.
• Assist staff with snack preparation and craft or culture classes.
• Support various Education Department programs and complete additional tasks as assigned.

What you'll need#

• Preference is given to Grand Ronde Tribal Youth in their junior or senior year of high school who are planning to pursue post-secondary education in mathematics, physics, or computer science.
• A cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 is required, with a 2.5 GPA preferred.
• Must hold or obtain a valid Oregon driver’s license, qualify for Tribal vehicle insurance, and provide proof of personal vehicle insurance.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and community partners.
• Sensitivity to and knowledge of Native American culture.
• Dependability and a willingness to participate in required training.

• Location: Grand Ronde, Oregon.
• Term: Summer 2026.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Compensation: $16.00 per hour.
• Note: Candidates must pass criminal and character background checks and may be required to provide proof of certain health vaccinations. This position may require occasional local travel and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
