College Intern-Aide - Early Childhood Education

About the role#

The College Intern-Aide for the Early Childhood Education program provides support to staff and students in a classroom setting. This is a paid, on-site summer 2026 internship. Preference in hiring is given to Grand Ronde Tribal members pursuing studies in Early Childhood Education or related fields.

What you'll do#

• Assist staff in the classroom, on the playground, and during field trip supervision.
• Support the cook as needed and maintain classroom cleanliness.
• Manage classroom supplies and materials.
• Perform data entry and document filing.
• Assist with additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an accredited college or university.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• First Aid/CPR certification and a food handler’s card.
• Required health documentation, including TB and Hep B vaccinations and a physical exam every three years.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and community partners.
• Knowledge of and sensitivity to Native American culture.
• Valid Oregon Driver’s License and ability to meet vehicle insurance requirements.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform tasks involving repetitive hand and wrist movement.
• Six months of experience in a preschool or childcare facility is preferred.
• Candidates are subject to criminal and character background checks, including potential fingerprinting.

• Compensation: $16.00 – $18.26 per hour.
