About the role#
The College Intern-Aide for the Early Childhood Education program provides support to staff and students in a classroom setting. This is a paid, on-site summer 2026 internship. Preference in hiring is given to Grand Ronde Tribal members pursuing studies in Early Childhood Education or related fields.
What you'll do#
- Assist staff in the classroom, on the playground, and during field trip supervision.
- Support the cook as needed and maintain classroom cleanliness.
- Manage classroom supplies and materials.
- Perform data entry and document filing.
- Assist with additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- First Aid/CPR certification and a food handler’s card.
- Required health documentation, including TB and Hep B vaccinations and a physical exam every three years.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and community partners.
- Knowledge of and sensitivity to Native American culture.
- Valid Oregon Driver’s License and ability to meet vehicle insurance requirements.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform tasks involving repetitive hand and wrist movement.
- Six months of experience in a preschool or childcare facility is preferred.
- Candidates are subject to criminal and character background checks, including potential fingerprinting.

- Compensation: $16.00 – $18.26 per hour.
