The Coordinator of Student Union Programming creates and implements engaging campus events through a student-led programming board. This position focuses on developing programs, committees, and volunteer opportunities that enhance student leadership, personal development, and academic success. The role involves performing advising and supervisory work under general supervision.
What you'll do#
- Develop creative events that foster community and promote school spirit.
- Plan and execute evening and weekend campus programming.
- Assist the Student Union Director in coordinating signature university events.
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise student staff in programming and marketing.
- Serve as the advisor for the Student Union Crew volunteer organization.
- Oversee marketing strategies and social media presence for student programs.
- Assist with budget planning and represent the Student Union at new student orientations.
- Serve on division and university-wide committees as needed.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required; a Master’s degree in higher education or student affairs is preferred.
- At least one year of program management experience in student activities or higher education.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the public.
- Ability to provide administrative guidance, training, and supervision.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment regarding organizational policies.
