About the role#
The Business Manager for the Center for Student Involvement performs administrative and operational duties to support the department. This role involves managing budgets, personnel transactions, and financial reporting. You will work under general supervision to coordinate day-to-day business operations, exercising independent judgment to ensure departmental goals are met.
What you'll do#
- Manage accounting, personnel functions, and all accounts under the Director.
- Assist staff with budget management, purchasing, travel, and operational expenses.
- Oversee the departmental purchasing card, contract reviews, and reconciliations.
- Maintain capital equipment inventory and secure records, data, and facilities.
- Manage cash receipts, accounts receivable, and program revenue collections.
- Prepare annual appointment and budget forms, periodic reports, and office schedules.
- Assist in the development and interpretation of business policies and procedures.
- Support the department with special events and maintain communication across the university community.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent (some college course work is preferred).
- Eight years of progressively responsible clerical experience, ideally including supervisory experience.
- Working knowledge of modern business practices and accounting principles.
- Ability to organize work, prioritize objectives, and integrate resources effectively.
- Proficiency with personal computers and standard office equipment.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with students, faculty, and staff.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and provide administrative guidance.
