About the role#
The Cybersecurity Internship is part of our Consultant Development Program. This paid, immersive training program helps you build the technical and professional skills needed for a career in information security. You will join our Healthcare practice area, working directly with hospitals, clinics, and insurance companies to protect sensitive data.
What you'll do#
- Protect Protected Healthcare Information (PHI) for clients in the healthcare industry.
- Perform security posture and control assessments to validate data protection.
- Help organizations maintain compliance with HIPAA and HITRUST standards.
- Learn about national and international frameworks including PCI-DSS and ISO 27001.
- Observe and assist with internal and external penetration testing and social engineering projects.
- Plan, document, and execute technical project requirements.
- Develop the skills necessary to perform billable work on client engagements.
- Observe the implementation of enterprise security solutions.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor's degree or current enrollment at an accredited 4-year university, or military equivalent.
- Basic familiarity with networking concepts like firewalls, routers, switches, and DNS.
- Experience with computer troubleshooting and server systems administration.
- Understanding of business planning and accounting.
- Strong writing skills for both technical and expository documentation.
- Proficiency in Excel and Word.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and your own time effectively.
- A self-starter mindset with a desire to learn independently.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks and relevant IT or cybersecurity certifications are preferred.

- This is a full-time, on-site internship for Summer 2027.
- Locations: Irvine, California or Fairfax, Virginia.
- This position is paid and includes paid sick time off.
