About the role#
The Junior Biomedical Internship program offers two tracks. The research track focuses on projects in tissue engineering, biomaterials, or biosensors. The entrepreneurship track focuses on biomedical innovation. This is an on-site, year-round, unpaid internship based in Woodland Hills, California.
What you'll do#
- Develop logical and analytical thinking skills.
- Solve complex problems and gain experience in research and data analysis.
- Understand the technology platforms developed at the Terasaki Institute.
- Conduct impact assessments, marketing research, and analyze business strategies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate at a four-year college or university in the U.S., Puerto Rico, or other U.S. Territories.
- Completion of at least two years of undergraduate study prior to the program start.
- Intention to pursue a Ph.D. or a joint M.D./Ph.D. in a bioscience field.
- Must not be admitted to or enrolled in a graduate program at the time the internship begins.
- U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status.
- Availability to participate for a minimum of 10 weeks.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Strong time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Majors in Biomedical Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Public Health, or Pharmaceutical Sciences.
