About the role#
The Nurse Extern II position is a department specific externship for nursing students in their graduating year. This role offers hands on experience within the Telemetry unit to support advanced skill development before graduation. This is a part time, per diem position that is not a float role.
What you'll do#
You will provide patient care support under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Your responsibilities include:
- Participating in patient care planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation.
- Communicating significant observations to the RN.
- Following established scope and guidelines for patient care.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment and good standing in an accredited RN nursing program.
- Completion of the Fundamentals of Nursing course.
- Completion of the first round of clinical rotations.
- Status within the final one to two academic terms of your nursing program.
- Current AHA BLS certification.
