IT Technical Specialist Intern

About the role#

This internship provides hands-on experience in a professional IT environment. You will work alongside an experienced team to support day-to-day operations, resolve technical issues, and gain insight into how enterprise systems function. This role is designed for individuals with foundational IT knowledge who are eager to develop practical skills in hardware setup, troubleshooting, and service desk processes.

What you'll do#

• Respond to and prioritize support tickets assigned to the local IT team.
• Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and peripheral issues, escalating complex problems when necessary.
• Document end-user interactions and completed work within the service desk tool.
• Provide on-site IT support, including PC imaging, workstation setup, and printer configuration.
• Assist with hardware refreshes, device deployments, and inventory management.
• Support common business applications such as Microsoft Office and Teams.
• Maintain loaner equipment records and assist with conference room technology setup.
• Create and update knowledge base articles for common technical issues.

What you'll need#

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current enrollment in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree program in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Basic IT knowledge gained through coursework, certifications, personal projects, or school labs.
• Familiarity with Windows 10/11 and Microsoft Office 365.
• Exposure to Active Directory or similar account management tools is preferred.
• A strong willingness to learn new technologies and follow established IT processes.
• Must meet U.S. export control requirements (U.S. citizen, national, legal permanent resident, asylee, or refugee).
