About the role#
The Teacher Retirement System of Texas is hiring a Student Intern for the Public Markets team. This is a paid, full-time, 10-week summer assignment. You will work alongside investment professionals to gain practical experience in research and analysis. You will receive training and mentoring throughout the program.
What you'll do#
- Perform fundamental and statistical investment analysis, including valuation multiples and volatility studies.
- Conduct quantitative research on companies, industries, and countries.
- Assist with due diligence for potential investment opportunities.
- Work on projects related to global equity portfolios, hedge funds, and credit portfolios.
- Prepare written and oral reports to present your findings to staff and management.
- Coordinate with investment managers, analysts, and third-party advisors.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate senior or a 5-year master's student.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Academic background in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Business Administration.
- Ability to live in Austin, Texas for the duration of the internship.

- Compensation: $43.27 per hour for undergraduate seniors or $46.30 per hour for 5-year master's students.
