About the role#
Synthomer is hiring Chemical Engineering students for our co-op program in Jefferson Hills. This program provides hands-on experience in a chemical manufacturing environment. You will work alongside engineers, operators, and craftsmen to complete technical assignments that impact our daily operations. You will present your work at the end of each session.
What you'll do#
- Optimize continuous or batch reactions through process chemistry.
- Improve processes by eliminating bottlenecks, reducing costs, and increasing yields.
- Work on multidisciplinary reliability projects to reduce downtime.
- Execute small capital projects across various disciplines.
- Manage occupational and process safety projects to reduce or eliminate hazards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate Chemical Engineering degree program at an accredited university.
- A genuine interest in working within a chemical manufacturing setting.
- A GPA above 3.0 is preferred for consideration.
- Authorization to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

- This position is located on-site in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania.
- The role is part-time and operates on a rolling term basis.
- This is a paid position.
