About the role#
Synaptrix is building non-invasive brain-computer interfaces. We bring together neuroscience, AI, and engineering to create technology that improves lives. As an intern, you will work with our team of engineers, researchers, and designers to build neurotechnology products. You will take ownership of projects and contribute to our ongoing research and development.
What you'll do#
- Build and prototype non-invasive EEG-based BCI hardware, ranging from electrode arrays to embedded microcontroller systems.
- Develop real-time software systems for neural signal processing and data visualization.
- Design, train, and evaluate machine learning models for EEG/EMG decoding, denoising, and signal enhancement.
- Create intuitive interfaces and user experiences for people with mobility or communication impairments.
- Prototype wearable and ergonomic form factors for neurotech devices in collaboration with the design team.
- Support data collection, experimental setup, and documentation for R&D projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, or Mechanical/Industrial Design.
- Experience with Python, C++, or JavaScript.
- Familiarity with tools like PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, Arduino, PCB design, Figma, Fusion 360, or SolidWorks.
- Curiosity about neuroscience, AI, or human-machine interfaces.
- Ability to work well in an interdisciplinary team.
- Prior experience with EEG/EMG systems, biosignal acquisition, or data analysis is a plus.
