About the role#
Syensqo is seeking a motivated student for a Summer 2026 Research and Innovation internship at our Bristol, Pennsylvania, facility. This full-time, on-site role involves working within the Microbiology group of the North American Research and Technology team. You will conduct guided research under the supervision of a senior scientist to support our project portfolio and the development of new products and processes.
What you'll do#
- Execute experiments at the lab scale and evaluate results to support current projects.
- Develop new products and processes from a quality microbiology perspective.
- Collaborate with a senior scientist on novel water-based formulation additives for architectural and industrial coatings.
- Formulate paint and perform testing for waterborne coatings using industry standard protocols.
- Support the technical development of new products in additives and polymers for waterborne systems.
- Characterize physical properties of new additives and analyze laboratory data.
- Record raw data in logbooks or computer systems and communicate findings to the project team.
- Maintain laboratory equipment in a safe and clean condition.
What you'll need#
- Currently in pursuit of a B.S. in Biological Science, Chemistry, or Biomedical Sciences.
- Some prior laboratory experience is preferred.
- Experience in microbiology is a plus.
- Proficiency with Excel is preferred.
