About the role#
As a Marketing Intern, you will support Swimming Canada’s marketing, communications, and revenue generation initiatives. This role is designed to complement your post-secondary studies, offering practical experience in a national sport organization. You will work on a variety of projects that provide professional growth and skill development.
What you'll do#
- Support marketing special projects and events, including the creation of invitations, tracking, and logistics.
- Manage the online auction by sourcing items and coordinating shipping to winners.
- Assist with Swim-A-Thon activities, including outreach to swim clubs to assess fundraising needs and providing platform support.
- Update athlete bios and website content.
- Organize and maintain the photo archive.
- Handle data and file management tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program, with this internship contributing toward academic credits.
- Strong verbal and written skills in English. Proficiency in French is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and basic knowledge of graphic design tools like Canva.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and collaborate effectively with others.
- Professionalism when interacting with athletes, coaches, and staff.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing organizational needs.
- Legal eligibility to work or complete an internship in Canada.
- Familiarity with the sport of swimming is desired.
Location & details#
- Location: Ottawa, Ontario.
- Work Modality: On-site with the opportunity for remote work.
- Schedule: Flexible, generally Monday to Friday between 9am and 4pm.
- Compensation: An honorarium is provided at the conclusion of the internship term.
