As a Legal Intern at Super.com, you will gain experience working in-house at a venture-backed startup. You will report directly to the General Counsel or Lead Counsels and collaborate with the legal team on various projects, including litigation, privacy law, banking regulations, intellectual property, and commercial transactions. The team emphasizes professional development, offering training on contract negotiation tactics and interpersonal skills to help you navigate your legal career.
What you'll do#
- Work cross-functionally to advise operations, product, engineering, and customer care teams on product development and new features.
- Perform legal research on applicable laws and regulations related to company verticals, product features, and marketing approaches.
- Draft, review, and proofread contracts, including influencer and freelance writer agreements, master service agreements, DPAs, and third-party vendor contracts.
- Balance legal risks within the context of business operations.
- Prepare internal training materials for non-legal staff regarding privilege, confidentiality, influencer negotiations, and data protection.
- Communicate with outside counsel on matters such as employment law, data protection, and litigation.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in an accredited law school program (1L, 2L, or 3L) pursuing a Juris Doctorate.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Intellectual curiosity and the ability to quickly learn about new and complex issues.
- A strong interest in business and startups.
- Ability to work independently with some oversight and manage projects from start to finish.
Location & details#
- Term: Fall 2026 (September 8th – December 18th, 2026).
- Modality: Remote (candidates must be based in Canada).
- Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week) with a minimum 6-hour overlap with Eastern Time.
- Compensation: CA$24.50 – CA$30.00 per hour.
