About the role#
Sunbelt Controls is hiring an Engineering Intern to join our team in Renton, Washington. This summer 2026 position is a full-time, on-site role. You will work under the direction of the Engineering Manager to support our Engineering Group with daily project tasks and development goals.
What you'll do#
- Assist Design Engineers with specific project tasks and engineering functions.
- Perform basic program and graphics modifications and hardware application designs.
- Participate in training and development to learn engineering design tools, control applications theory, and department processes.
- Support project closeout activities, including as-built control diagrams and operation manuals.
- Attend OSHA 10 safety training.
- Communicate with project team members to address field issues and information needs.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited university engineering program, preferably Mechanical Engineering, or 2-5 years of related work experience in the building automation systems industry.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and any relevant technical school training.
- Working knowledge of MS Office, Windows, and file structures, with a preference for MS Visio experience.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet project schedules.
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
