The Engineering Intern will work within the Engineering Group to support Design Engineers with day-to-day activities. This internship focuses on learning engineering department processes, control applications theory, and design tools. Interns participate in an ongoing development program and may assist with field commissioning activities and project closeout tasks.
What you'll do#
- Assist Design Engineers with specific project tasks and engineering functions.
- Perform basic program and graphics modifications and hardware application designs.
- Participate in the development of as-built control diagrams and operational and maintenance manuals.
- Initiate and track project checkout documentation and as-built conditions.
- Undergo training and development in the use of engineering design tools.
- Attend and complete OSHA 10 safety training.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited university engineering program, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, or 2-5 years of related work experience in the building automation systems industry.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and any relevant technical school training.
- Working knowledge of MS Office, Windows, and file structures; experience with MS Visio is preferred.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet project schedules.
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs occasionally.
