About the role#
STV is hiring a Construction Management Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This role is based on-site in Washington, D.C. You will work alongside our team to support construction oversight and project coordination for various commercial, aviation, and federal projects. This is a full-time, paid internship.
What you'll do#
- Perform daily on-site oversight of construction activities and document progress.
- Observe contractor work to identify quality issues, deficiencies, or deviations from project plans.
- Monitor compliance with safety procedures, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Review project plans to identify potential construction issues.
- Track work schedules and upcoming activities in coordination with contractors.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, inspection records, and project documentation.
- Attend weekly project meetings and assist with documenting updates and action items.
- Assist in determining the need for changes based on field conditions.
- Support the project team with general construction management tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in construction, project management, or a similar program.
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and procedures.
- Understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or other design software.
- Basic knowledge of scheduling software, budgeting, and cost control.
- Familiarity with sustainable building practices and LEED certification.
- Previous internship or relevant experience in construction management is preferred.
