About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027. You will work on-site in Herndon, Virginia, alongside experienced professionals. This program offers hands-on experience and mentorship within a publicly traded higher education company.
What you'll do#
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Create accounting reports for management.
- Support internal controls documentation and compliance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate status in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Understanding of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Familiarity with GAAP.
- Proficiency in Excel, including formulas, functions, and pivot tables.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage time effectively.
- Ability to work well in a team and adapt to new processes.
- Commitment to ethical judgment and professional integrity.
