About the role#
Strada is looking for a Software Engineer Intern to join the team as an early engineering hire. You will work across the stack to build core systems that power AI agents, ranging from real-time voice infrastructure to integrations with insurance platforms. This is a high-impact role where you will ship production code from your first day.
What you'll do#
- Ship production code starting on your first day.
- Own features end-to-end, from initial scoping to final shipping.
- Build and maintain core systems that power AI agents.
- Optimize live systems that handle real insurance workflows for major carriers.
- Contribute to product launches that impact customers directly.
- Participate in product and technical decision-making.
- Work across the stack, including real-time voice infrastructure and integrations.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and system design.
- Experience building software through internships, coursework, or personal projects.
- Comfort working across the stack, specifically with TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
- Ability to thrive in environments that require high ownership.
- Experience with real-time systems, WebSockets, or telephony is preferred.
- Familiarity with AI/LLM-based platforms or prompt engineering is a plus.
- Prior experience at an early-stage startup or contributions to open source projects is helpful.
Location & details#
- This position is based on-site in San Francisco, California.
- The role is full-time.
- Compensation is $7.5K per month.
- Benefits include a MacBook Pro with a 4K display, gym membership, regular team events, and daily team dinners from Monday through Friday.
