About the role#
STO Building Group is hiring an intern to work within our Operations and Estimating departments. You will work alongside superintendents, project managers, and estimators to gain hands-on experience in construction management. This is a paid, full-time position with a rolling term that typically lasts three months, though extensions are possible based on project needs.
What you'll do#
- Assist superintendents, project managers, and estimators with daily project tasks.
- Attend project meetings and prepare meeting minutes.
- Help manage project schedules and coordinate with sub-contractors.
- Maintain and organize project finishes, binders, and filing systems.
- Handle office duties including supply orders and general upkeep.
- Prepare accurate client proposals and vendor purchase order paperwork.
- Support in-field project managers with daily requests.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program for civil engineering, construction management, building technology, or a related field.
- Professionalism, motivation, and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients and vendors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs like Word and Excel, as well as Microsoft Project.
- Ability to manage tasks effectively and meet deadlines.

- Location: Stamford, Connecticut.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $23 to $25 per hour.
