About the role#
The Marketing and Communications Co-op supports the Department of Financial Regulation in its mission to promote financial literacy and consumer awareness. You will work with the Education and Outreach teams to create and distribute educational materials and fraud prevention resources. This position helps strengthen public understanding of department resources through various communication channels.
What you'll do#
- Create and distribute digital and print content focused on financial literacy and consumer protection.
- Support communication efforts across the department website, newsletters, and social media channels.
- Collaborate with staff to plan and promote educational events and outreach campaigns.
- Contribute to communication strategies that increase statewide awareness of department resources.
- Analyze engagement data to help inform future outreach projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate student in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Strong skills in writing, editing, and digital communication.
- Familiarity with social media platforms, content management systems, and digital marketing tools.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once while maintaining attention to detail.
- A collaborative mindset and an interest in public service and consumer education.

- This position is located in Montpelier, Vermont.
- The role is on-site.
- This is a paid, temporary position.
- The role is not full-time, with a typical commitment of at least 32 hours per week for a duration of 4 to 6 months.
