Stanley Consultants is seeking an Electrical Substation Student Intern to join the team in Denver, Colorado for the Summer 2026 term. This is a full-time, on-site internship focused on gaining practical experience in the design and engineering of electrical substations.
What you'll do#
- Develop an understanding of various aspects of substation design.
- Design substation physical layouts, lightning protection, conduit and cable plans, and grounding systems.
- Generate single and three-line schematic diagrams, panel wiring, DC schematics, and control building and relay panel layouts.
- Perform lighting design and coordinate with structural, civil, transmission line, and graphics disciplines.
- Collaborate as part of a design team and support multiple projects simultaneously.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a BSEE program at an ABET-accredited university.
- Current standing as a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior pursuing a BS in Electrical Engineering.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Coursework or equivalent experience in power system analysis.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work legally in the United States without sponsorship.
- Preference for candidates local to the Colorado area.
