About the role#
StandardAero is looking for one student to join our Facilities Maintenance team in Springfield. This is a part-time internship, typically requiring 20 to 24 hours per week. You will work alongside experienced professionals to gain hands-on experience in a professional maintenance, repair, and overhaul setting. You may also have opportunities to cross-train in areas such as airframe, supply, inspections, and engines.
What you'll do#
- Partner with the facilities project maintenance team to support companywide maintenance tasks.
- Work on projects involving electrical systems, plumbing, lighting controls, compressed air systems, and building HVAC.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and complete maintenance projects.
- Assist in creating and updating internal environmental policies.
- Ensure site-wide compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Handle other projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a formal HVAC trade or training program.
- At least 1 year of building maintenance experience.
- Working knowledge of PCs and MS Office Suite.
- Familiarity with the tools, methods, and practices used to maintain equipment and buildings.
- Experience using hand and power tools.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Knowledge of local and national fire, building, plumbing, and electrical codes.
- US citizenship is required due to government contracts.
- Preference is given to students from Lincoln Land Community College or local Springfield area trade and HVAC programs.
