Electrical Intern

About the role#

As an Electrical Intern at Spaceium Inc., you will work directly with the electrical engineering team on real spacecraft hardware. This hands-on role involves contributing to the design, testing, and integration of electronic systems for orbital missions. You will collaborate across mechanical, software, and systems engineering disciplines to support our spacecraft development.

What you'll do#

• Support schematic capture and PCB layout for spacecraft avionics.
• Assist with harness design, wiring, and integration.
• Help bring up, test, and debug electronic boards and subsystems.
• Support electrical testing, including power, signal integrity, and functional tests.
• Contribute to documentation, test reports, and design reviews.
• Assist with lab setup, instrumentation, and maintenance of test equipment.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Familiarity with basic electronics, circuit analysis, and lab instrumentation.
• Exposure to at least one programming language such as Python, C, or C++.
• Creative problem-solving skills with a focus on first-principles thinking.
• Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools like Altium or KiCad.
• Hands-on experience with microcontrollers, sensors, embedded systems, and lab equipment like oscilloscopes and multimeters.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends to support critical project milestones.
