The Regulatory Support Student provides paraprofessional support for the Regulation Division at the Southwest Florida Water Management District. This role assists with business processes related to permitting, post-permitting, and compliance enforcement. You will work within a team-oriented environment to ensure tasks are completed within established timeframes.
What you'll do#
- Process permit-related information and documentation.
- Manage data and perform document imaging.
- Ensure all electronic records are compliant with District standards.
- Utilize various computer applications to process and organize documents.
- Participate in on-site training and development opportunities.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university in a field such as Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Public Health, or Business Administration.
- Minimum GPA of 2.5 for undergraduates or 3.0 for graduates.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to provide an official school transcript within 30 days of employment.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office is preferred.
Location & details#
- Locations: Tampa, Brooksville, or Sarasota, Florida.
- Work Modality: On-site only.
- Compensation: $14.00 per hour.
- Schedule: Maximum of 25 hours per week.
- Travel: Some travel within the District’s coverage area may be required using a District vehicle.
- Physical Requirements: Standard office environment with continuous keyboarding, occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds, and occasional bending or reaching.
