About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for the Winter 2027 term. You will join the team in Mississauga, Ontario, working in a hybrid model. This role provides an opportunity to contribute to the design, development, and support of software applications while gaining experience in performance engineering and infrastructure.
What you'll do#
- Design, script, configure, and run performance tests to validate the production readiness of software and infrastructure.
- Condition test data to simulate realistic test scenarios.
- Use load testing tools like JMeter and performance engineering tools like AppDynamics and Fiddler to capture and analyze data.
- Collaborate with senior performance engineers to work on automation frameworks and analyze product code to identify the root cause of performance issues.
- Work alongside development and architecture teams to troubleshoot performance-related problems.
- Gain experience with SQL, PL-SQL, stored procedures, and SQL Server databases.
- Learn about the evolution from on-premise systems to the cloud.
- Understand how cross-functional teams, including developers, architects, quality assurance, and product management, collaborate to deliver software.
- Learn how user requirements are gathered and translated into technical solutions.
- Use industry-standard tools and processes such as JIRA and Git.
What you'll need#
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and database fundamentals.
- Basic understanding of the software development life cycle.
- Programming experience in at least one of the following: C, C++, Java, JavaScript, SQL, Ruby, Rust, Lua, or Haskell.
- Curiosity and a desire to learn as part of a team.
