Data Scientist Intern

About the role#

This is a 12-month Data Scientist internship starting in September 2026. You will work within a team to gain hands-on experience in software development and the application of Generative AI to enterprise products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, architects, and product managers, to understand how software solutions are delivered from concept to completion.

What you'll do#

• Enhance programming skills by collaborating with experienced team members.
• Learn to evaluate, select, and integrate Generative AI technologies such as OpenAI, LangChain, and vector databases into large-scale products.
• Apply Gen AI to solve business problems in areas like intelligent automation, conversational interfaces, and AI-powered analytics.
• Gain insight into the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering and the translation of real-world problems into software.
• Utilize industry-standard tools and processes, including Jira, Git, and various testing frameworks.

What you'll need#

• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and database fundamentals.
• Awareness of NLP fundamentals, including vector spaces, embeddings, regression, classification, and non-supervised learning.
• Familiarity with GenAI concepts such as RAG, classification, and evaluation metrics.
• Basic knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Basic programming proficiency in languages such as C, C++, Java, JavaScript, SQL, Ruby, Rust, Lua, or Haskell.
• A strong desire to learn and work collaboratively within a team.

• Location: Mississauga, Ontario (Meadowvale Office).
• Modality: On-site.
• Term: 12 months, beginning September 2026.
• Compensation: $50,000 – $60,000 annually, determined by education and experience.
• Status: Full-time, paid internship.
