The Co-Op Engineer - Electrical will assist in all phases of controls projects, ranging from concept and research to on-site installation and troubleshooting. Working under the guidance of experienced engineers, you will contribute to the design, programming, and documentation of automation systems.
What you'll do#
- Assist with component selection, network design, panel design, and layout.
- Support the development of electrical circuits and systems for power and control distribution.
- Perform PLC and HMI programming and assist in the production of detailed schematics and electrical diagrams.
- Create systems documentation and user manuals.
- Troubleshoot devices and support field installation and startup processes.
- Collaborate effectively with project team members.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Electrical Engineering, EET, or CECS from an accredited institution.
- Foundational knowledge of controls concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Basic proficiency in programming, design, and CAD software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and sit for prolonged periods.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time to customer facilities and work non-business hours as project needs require.
