About the role#
The Co-Op Engineer for Electrical controls supports all phases of automation projects. Working under the guidance of experienced engineers, you will contribute to concept research, component selection, network and panel design, and system troubleshooting. This role involves both office-based design work and field installation support.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design and development of electrical circuits and systems for power and control distribution.
- Support PLC and HMI programming and the production of detailed electrical schematics and diagrams.
- Create system documentation and user manuals.
- Participate in project teams during field installation and startup, including system checklist support.
- Communicate project status effectively with team members.
- Travel to customer facilities as needed, which may require working non-business hours.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Electrical Engineering (EE), Electrical Engineering Technology (EET), or Computer Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) from an accredited institution.
- Foundational knowledge of controls concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Basic skills in programming, system design, and CAD software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive data entry tasks.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
