Co-Op Engineer - Electrical

About the role#

The Co-Op Engineer - Electrical will assist in all phases of controls projects, ranging from concept and research to on-site installation and troubleshooting. Working under the guidance of experienced engineers, you will contribute to the design, programming, and documentation of automation systems.

What you'll do#

• Assist with component selection, network design, panel design, and layout.
• Support the development of electrical circuits and systems for power and control distribution.
• Perform PLC and HMI programming and assist in the production of detailed schematics and electrical diagrams.
• Create systems documentation and user manuals.
• Troubleshoot devices and support field installation and startup processes.
• Collaborate effectively with project team members.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Electrical Engineering, EET, or CECS from an accredited institution.
• Foundational knowledge of controls concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Basic proficiency in programming, design, and CAD software.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and sit for prolonged periods.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time to customer facilities and work non-business hours as project needs require.
