About the role#
Soluna is looking for an MBA Intern to join our Development & Strategy team. You will own the front end of our site acquisition funnel. Your work involves evaluating raw leads to determine if they meet our return thresholds, helping the team decide where to build next. This is a high-ownership role where your analysis directly informs our investment decisions.
What you'll do#
- Run inbound and sourced leads through our qualification framework, including power cost, interconnection status, and land availability.
- Produce one-page qualification summaries to help the team make quick, consistent decisions.
- Build first-pass economic screens to estimate capacity, project costs, and potential returns.
- Run sensitivity analyses on key variables like energy prices, curtailment hours, and revenue drivers.
- Track opportunities across power markets such as ERCOT, SPP, MISO, and PJM.
- Research specific utilities or counterparties to support ongoing deal conversations.
- Present a final summer project to the Development & Strategy team focused on improving our screening process.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an MBA program.
- Strong Excel modeling skills, specifically the ability to build screening models from scratch.
- Analytical judgment and the ability to reach defensible conclusions with incomplete information.
- Clear, concise written communication skills.
- A genuine interest in energy, digital infrastructure, or the intersection of both fields.
Location & details#
- This is a remote, full-time, paid internship.
- The term is rolling.
