About the role#
As an M&A Fellow at Solen Software Group, you will join our investment team in Toronto to support our expansion across North America. This role provides hands-on exposure to the full investment lifecycle, from sourcing and evaluating acquisition targets to supporting transaction execution. You will work directly with our investment professionals, contribute to real investment decisions, and take ownership of meaningful projects within a lean team.
What you'll do#
- Identify, research, and evaluate potential B2B software acquisition targets.
- Conduct market research to find attractive software verticals and investment opportunities.
- Maintain the investment pipeline and help build relationships with founders, entrepreneurs, and advisors.
- Analyze business models, competitive positioning, and financial performance.
- Support financial modeling, valuation analyses, and investment return assessments.
- Prepare company profiles, investment materials, and internal presentations.
- Participate in meetings with founders, management teams, and investment banks.
- Assist with due diligence processes and transaction execution.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Finance, Economics, or Engineering.
- Strong interest in investing, private equity, technology, and entrepreneurship.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Genuine curiosity about what drives long-term competitive advantage in business.
- Strong communication skills in English.
- Familiarity with Excel and basic financial statements.
- Ability to work independently with a high level of ownership and initiative.
- Humility, adaptability, and a willingness to learn in a collaborative environment.
- Previous experience in investment banking or private equity is helpful but not required.
