Join the process team at Solcoa Industries to help convert rare earth magnet waste into high-purity metals. You will work alongside metallurgists, chemists, and technicians to support reactor operations, assist with alloy production, and bridge the gap between lab-scale experiments and production.
What you'll do#
- Assist with high-temperature and high-vacuum reactor operations.
- Characterize feed materials and products using ICP-OES, SEM-EDS, and LECO O/N instrumentation.
- Execute furnace cycles, collect process data, and summarize results to inform design iterations.
- Maintain organized logs of process parameters, equipment conditions, and sample tracking.
- Support equipment maintenance, including vacuum systems, induction coils, thermocouples, and gas handling systems.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a BS or MS degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Exposure to pyrometallurgy, electrometallurgy, or high-temperature processing through coursework or labs.
- Hands-on experience from labs, foundry work, internships, or personal projects related to metallurgy, such as casting, furnaces, or heat treatment.
- Strong attention to detail, disciplined documentation habits, and reliable follow-through.
- Comfort working in a hardware-centric environment.
