Tax Intern - International

About the role#

SingerLewak LLP is seeking an International Tax Intern to join our team in Los Angeles. This internship provides exposure to a variety of diversified accounting assignments under the supervision of experienced professionals. Performance is evaluated based on the quality of work, the application of accounting knowledge, and the ability to meet time constraints.

What you'll do#

• Record transactions in ledgers and prepare trial balances and financial statements using specialized software.
• Reconcile accounts to control accounts.
• Perform schedule computations for accruals, property and equipment, and calculate depreciation expense.
• Assist with audit or review procedures as assigned by supervisors.
• Prepare payroll, sales, local, and personal income tax returns.
• Compile workpapers and accounting reports required for audits.
• Support additional accounting, auditing, and tax duties as needed for client engagements.

What you'll need#

• A High School Diploma and at least two years of progress toward a bachelor’s degree, typically in accounting.
• Ability to apply technical accounting knowledge to tasks such as financial statement preparation and account reconciliation.
• Experience working under supervision and meeting deadlines on multiple assignments.
