Tax Intern

About the role#

SingerLewak LLP is seeking a Tax Intern to join the team in Los Angeles. This role provides exposure to a variety of accounting assignments under the supervision of experienced professionals. Performance is evaluated based on the quality of work, the application of accounting knowledge, and the ability to manage time constraints effectively.

What you'll do#

• Record transactions in ledgers, prepare trial balances, and create simple financial statements using accounting software.
• Reconcile accounts to control accounts.
• Perform schedule computations for accruals, property and equipment, and calculate depreciation expense.
• Assist with audit or review procedures as assigned.
• Prepare payroll, sales, and other local tax returns, as well as certain personal income tax returns.
• Compile workpapers and accounting reports required for audits.
• Support other accounting, auditing, and tax duties as needed for client engagements.

What you'll need#

• A High School Diploma.
• At least two years of progress toward a bachelor’s degree, typically in Accounting.
