About the role#
This internship offers the opportunity to contribute to real-world projects that impact the organization. Interns will work across departments to gain professional experience while applying skills relevant to their field of study. At the conclusion of the summer, you will present your project work to team members and senior leadership.
What you'll do#
- Complete project work focused on solving genuine operational challenges.
- Engage in daily tasks to build a foundational understanding of internal processes.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying ways to reduce waste and enhance quality.
- Participate in team development, communication, and the implementation of company policies.
- Maintain familiarity with Simmons operating systems, including quality and security standards.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure best practices and support organizational goals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Knowledge of business and management principles.
- Willingness to lead, take charge, and offer direction.
- Proficiency in computer programs, specifically the Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to work on your feet for multiple hours, work in various temperatures, and lift at least 10 pounds.
- Preferred experience in manufacturing or poultry industries.
