About the role#
SimIS Inc. is seeking an Aerospace/Aviation Artificial Intelligence Developer Intern to assist in the creation and training of AI tools. You will work on autonomous systems and contribute to the development of machine learning processes designed to improve automation. This role involves managing project infrastructure and collaborating with a team to define goals for AI processes.
What you'll do#
- Develop and train AI tools to automate processes for Aerospace/Aviation machine learning.
- Evaluate machine learning processes to identify trends, inconsistencies, and ambiguities in large datasets.
- Design, program, and test AI systems while resolving issues with algorithms and data.
- Work with autonomous systems and support the development of efficient AI software architecture.
- Collaborate with team members, including engineers and scientists, to drive technical feasibility for the product backlog.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Engineering.
- Ability to build containerized application tools using the 12 Factor App methodology.
- Knowledge of AI tools such as Tensorflow and experience with AI development.
- Strong aptitude for math, statistics, and NASA mission areas including aeronautics, space operations, and exploration systems.
- Fluent English skills with clear written and oral communication abilities.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site position based in Suffolk, Virginia.
- The role is a paid internship.
- The schedule is expected to be 14 to 16 hours per week.
